Description:
At 1013 PM CDT, Doppler radar and rainfall gauges reported
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 4
and 12 inches of rain had fallen over the past 24 hours with up to 2
inches in portions of the warned area. Signifant Flash flooding is
already occurring with numerous roads underwater and multiple water
rescues reported. Additionally, local creeks and rivers could
quickly become even more swollen across the warned area. Travel is
discouraged within the warned area.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Dunlay, D'Hanis, Bader, Biry, Yancey, Noonan, Rio Medina, Mico,

State Natural Area and Lake Medina Shores.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
