Description:
At 910 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that showers continued to fall
in the warned area, but rainfall rates had decreased considerably
since earlier this evening. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have
likely fallen over much of the warned area. AT 730 PM CDT, flash
flooding was reported along a few streets in the city of Alpine. Some
creeks were rapidly flowing from the heavy rain. Flash flooding is
already occurring but should gradually recede through 930 PM CDT.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Alpine, Alpine-Casparis Municipal Airport, Elephant Mountain and
Elephant Mountain Wildlife Management Area.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
