For the Navasota River...including Normangee...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Navasota River near Normangee. * WHEN...Until Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding continues with widespread inundation of the floodplain in the vicinity of the gage with the river more than 1 mile wide. Long Trussel Road in northeast Brazos County below State Highway 21 is threatened. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 16.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:00 PM CDT Tuesday was 17.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Thursday evening and fall below action stage by Saturday afternoon. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 16.5 feet on 07/01/2004. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
