West Nueces River At Brackettville affecting Uvalde and Kinney Counties. * WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...West Nueces River at Brackettville. * WHEN...Until Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Major flooding is over four hundred yards wide, well into the flood plain. Livestock should be moved from the flood plain from the headwaters to the Nueces River confluence. Fencing and roads are severely scoured. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:45 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 22.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:45 AM CDT Wednesday was 23.1 feet. - Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage this evening to 10.2 feet late tonight. It will then rise above flood stage late tonight to 22.7 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will fall below flood stage again tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 23.0 feet on 06/04/2019. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
