...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Texas...
Nueces River At Laguna affecting Uvalde County.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Nueces River at Laguna.
* WHEN...Until Friday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding makes low
bridges very dangerous to motorists along Highway 55 at Hackberry
Creek. The Nueces River at Barksdale, and numerous crossings and
low bridges in the headwaters and Camp Wood Creek. Campers
downstream should move themselves, vehicles, and equipment from
the banks of the river.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 10.4 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:30 PM CDT Wednesday was 18.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 10.6 feet late this
evening. It will then fall below flood stage late this
evening to 7.2 feet tomorrow morning. It will rise above
flood stage late tomorrow morning to 16.2 feet tomorrow
evening. It will then fall below flood stage again early
Friday morning to 3.7 feet early Monday afternoon. It will
rise to 3.9 feet Monday afternoon. It will then fall again
and remain below flood stage.

- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
16.1 feet on 11/17/2004.

Instruction:
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
