...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Texas... Guadalupe River At Comfort affecting Kendall County. Guadalupe River At Kerrville affecting Kerr County. Guadalupe River at Hunt affecting Kerr County. * WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Guadalupe River at Comfort. * WHEN...Until late tonight. * IMPACTS...At 39.0 feet, Disastrous life threatening flooding is over a mile across in some areas, flooding many homes below Kerrville to Canyon Lake, some to the roof. Large areas of the flood plain are cut off drowning hundreds of cattle. Most roads and bridges near the river flood and are extremely dangerous to motorists, cutting off residents in some areas until the water recedes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:50 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 37.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:50 AM CDT Thursday was 37.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will oscillate above flood stage with a maximum value of 38.7 feet late this morning. It will fall below flood stage late this afternoon. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 38.4 feet on 07/16/1900. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
