For the Rio Grande...including Columbia Bridge, Laredo...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Rio Grande at Columbia Bridge. * WHEN...From late Friday night to Monday morning. * IMPACTS...At 28 feet, or 8.5 meters, the flow reaches the height of the left bank. Flow exceeds left bank near the gauge. Most of customs and mall parking lots are inundated downstream in Laredo. The lowest residences are threatened in Laredo and Nuevo Laredo. Livestock, pumps, and equipment in the river channel are flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 11.0 feet (3.4 meters). - Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet (4.9 meters). - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Saturday morning to a crest of 29.0 feet (8.8 meters) early Sunday morning.
