...Forecast flooding changed from Moderate to Major severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Texas...
Llano River at Llano affecting Llano County.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Llano River at Llano.
* WHEN...Until late Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Flow will be damaging to docks and boats
downstream in Kingsland. The lowest secondary roads and bridges
will be severely flooded and dangerous. Near the USGS 1:5 year
flood level.
At 23.0 feet, Major lowland flooding makes primary and secondary
roads and low bridges near the river and tributaries dangerous.
Boats and docks are severely inundated downstream near and in
Kingsland. Lowest resorts near the Llano River mouth in Kingsland
flood.
At 26.0 feet, Major flooding will threaten lowest homes from
upstream near Castell to below Llano. Major damage will occur
downsteam in Kingsland to boats and docks. Secondary and primary
roads and bridges in the flood plain will be extremely dangerous
to motorists. Lowest homes and businesses in the Highland Lakes
below Kingsland will be flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:00 PM CDT Friday the stage was 15.7 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 1:00 PM CDT Friday was 17.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 25.0 feet just after
midnight tonight. It will fall below flood stage late
tomorrow evening.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
24.4 feet on 10/09/2018.
