* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 105 possible for the valleys of northern Utah, including the Wasatch Front and Cache Valley along with south central Utah, including Kanab. Highs around 100 possible for the mountain valleys of northern and central Utah, including the Wasatch Back, along with southwest Utah, including Cedar City, Castle Country, the Uinta Basin, and the San Rafael Swell. Highs up to 110 for Glen Canyon Recreation Area. * WHERE...Many valleys and mountain valleys across Utah, including the Wasatch Front, the Wasatch Back, Cache Valley, Northwest Desert, West Central Utah, the Uinta Basin, Castle Country, the San Rafael Swell, Sanpete and Sevier Valleys, South Central Utah, Capitol Reef National Park, and the Glen Canyon Recreation Area. * WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is high confidence that temperatures will warm to values challenging daily and monthly high temperature records Saturday afternoon as high pressure builds. Overnight lows in the lower to mid 70s for many valley locations will provide little in the way of overnight relief before the exceptionally hot temperatures return Sunday.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.
