The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
The Cottonwood burn scar in...
East Central Beaver County in southern Utah...
* Until 800 PM MDT.
* At 459 PM MDT, gauge reports and cameras indicated flash flooding
moving down Beaver Creek within the Cottonwood burn scar. Between
0.25 and 0.5 inches of rain have fallen in the basin that produced
this flow. Flash flooding will be moving downstream on Beaver
Creek and will continue through the Grove area in Beaver City.
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow
moving through Beaver Creek. The flow will consist of of primarily
muddy and ashy water.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding in and around the Cottonwood
Burn Scar...specifically in Beaver Creek.

Instruction:
This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause a
rapid rise on Beaver Creek originating from the Cottonwood Burn
Scar. Severe debris flows can also be anticipated across roads. If
you encounter flood waters...climb to safety.
Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.
Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Dry
washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
