Description:
At 855 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated earlier thunderstorms
produced heavy rain over the Forsyth Burn Scar. The focus of this
rainfall was primarily above the Pine Valley Recreation Area and
Pine Valley Reservoir on the Left Fork of the Santa Clara River.
Between 1.00 and 2.00 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow
moving through the Santa Clara Drainage downstream to below Baker
Reservoir. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and
other loose materials.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding in and around the Forsyth Burn Scar.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around
the Forsyth Burn Scar from the Pine Valley Reservoir
downstream to just below Baker Reservoir.

This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause
extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks...streams...and
ditches in the Forsyth Burn Scar. Severe debris flows can also be
anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away in
places. If you encounter flood waters...climb to safety.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
