Description: 
At 558 PM MDT, Piute County emergency management a debris flow currently moving downstream in Deer Creek below the Silver King burn scar. Between 0.25 and 0.75 inches of rain fell from an earlier thunderstorm. Flash flooding is already occurring. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow moving through Deer Creek. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding in and around the Silver King Burn Scar. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the Silver King Burn Scar...specifically for Deer Creek Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Hoovers rest area and HW 89 near mile marker 184.

This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks...streams...and ditches in the Silver King Burn Scar. Severe debris flows can also be anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away in places. If you encounter flood waters...climb to safety. Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
