The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
East Central San Juan County in southeastern Utah...
* Until 900 PM MDT.
* At 558 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.7 and 1.2 inches of
rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 4 inches in 1
hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
mainly rural areas of East Central San Juan County including
Highway 211 from Highway 191 west towards Canyonlands National
Park.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Highway 211 is prone to rockslides and mudslides in heavy rain. Stay
alert for rocks and debris on roads, and avoid driving on flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
