Description: 
At 406 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Muley Twist and Burr Trail area of Capitol Reef National Park. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain has fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Muley Twist Canyons and the Burr Trail in Capitol Reef National Park. This includes the following streams and drainages... Bullfrog Creek, Muley Creek, Moody Creek, North Fork Silver Falls Creek and Halls Creek.

It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
