* At 251 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Mendon,
moving southeast at 65 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is possible. Expect
considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Rutland, Woodstock, White River Junction, Chester, Killington,
Ludlow Village, Rutland City, Rutland - Southern Vermont Airport,
Pomfret, Plymouth, Hartland, Chittenden, West Rutland, Ira, Mount
Holly, Shrewsbury, Bridgewater, Pittsfield, Pittsford, and
Baltimore.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 89 between mile markers 1 and 7.
Interstate 91 between mile markers 39 and 65, and between mile
markers 68 and 73.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
