Description: 
At 157 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Moretown to North Ferrisburgh, moving southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Public. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and powerlines. Locations impacted include... Barre, Montpelier, Vergennes, Middlebury, Ferrisburg, Weybridge, Waltham, Bristol, Monkton Ridge, Waterbury Village, Websterville, Lincoln, Monkton, Waitsfield, Monkton Boro, Berlin, Fayston, New Haven, Middlesex, and Panton. This includes Interstate 89 between mile markers 40 and 65.
Instruction: 
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Boaters on Lake Champlain should seek safe harbor now! Strong winds will cause higher waves and sudden wind shifts may overturn boats. If on or near Lake Champlain, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
