* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of west central Virginia, including the following counties and independent city, Alleghany VA, Bath, Botetourt and City of Covington. * WHEN...Until 1245 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1110 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that heavy rain has exited the area, leaving only light to moderate rainfall. However, minor flooding may be occurring as runoff from heavy rain earlier this evening collects in local creeks and rivers, potentially pushing them out of their banks in spots. Up to 2 inches of rain fell within a hour. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Cedar Creek, Falling Spring Creek, Cowpasture River, Dry Creek, Claylick Run, Dry Run, Dunlap Creek and Cove Run. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Covington...
