* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following counties, Carroll and Floyd. * WHEN...Until 245 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1149 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that heavy rain has exited the area. However, localized flooding may still be occurring as runoff from heavy rain falling since 9 PM collects in local creeks and rivers, potentially pushing them out of their banks and onto nearby roadways. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Island Creek, Deepwater Creek, Brannon Branch, Laurel Fork, Big Reed Island Creek, Mira Fork, Burks Fork and Greasy Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Dugspur... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
