West central Caroline County in north central Virginia...
Northwestern Hanover County in central Virginia...
* Until 500 PM EDT.
* At 411 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Montpelier,
or 12 miles northwest of Randolph Macon College, moving north at 10
mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and powerlines.
* This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
east central Louisa, west central Caroline and northwestern Hanover
Counties, including the following locations... Chilesburg,
Beaverdam, Cedar Fork, Coatesville, Hewlett, Ruther Glen, Noel, and
Mabelton.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
