.In Central Washington scattered showers and thunderstorms are
tracking through Central WA this morning. This activity is
expected become isolated going into the afternoon. Additional
showers and storms will redevelop overnight. In Eastern
Washington, scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop in the
afternoon and track southwest to northeast into Thursday evening.
A few storms could be strong during this time with frequent
lightning and hail. Gusty outflow winds around 60 mph will be
possible with this activity.
* Affected Area: Foothills of Northeast Washington (Zone 701)
and Eastern Columbia Basin -Palouse -Spokane Area (Zone 708).
* Thunderstorms: Isolated coverage in the late morning and early
afternoon becoming isolated to scattered in the late afternoon
and evening. A mix of wet and dry thunderstorms. Locally higher
rainfall amounts with stronger thunderstorms in the late
afternoon and early evening.
* Outflow Winds: Erratic outflow wind gusts up to 60 mph in the
late afternoon and evening.
* Impacts: New fire starts from lightning. New fires could be
impacted by gusty outflow winds.
Instruction:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
