Description:
At 214 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles southwest of Glen, or 16 miles southwest of Clay, moving east
at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Clay, Montgomery, Cedar Grove, East Bank, Glasgow, Smithers, Gauley
Bridge, Pratt, Glen, Handley, Bickmore, Swiss, Indore, Bentree,
Drennan, and Pond Gap.
This includes West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 82 and 85.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
