Description:
At 652 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in
the warned area. There are reports of swift water rescues and several
vehicles submerged.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Reports of several
vehicles submerged and swift water rescues.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Buckhannon, Tallmansville, Overhill, French Creek, Ellamore and
Horner.
This includes Route 33 between mile markers 2 and 5...and between
mile markers 15 and 17.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
