Description:
At 450 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Belmont, or 8
miles northeast of Platteville, moving east at 35 mph.
THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR SOUTHERN IOWA COUNTY.
HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Platteville airport measured a 78 MPH wind gust. Radar
indicated hail threat.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.
Locations impacted include...
Dodgeville, Mineral Point, Linden, Cobb, Rewey, London, Edmund, and
Governor Dodge St Park.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

building.
