WASHINGTON — President Trump said he had been briefed on the possibility of Iranian sleeper cells in the United States after being asked about retaliation concerns tied to the conflict with Iran.

Trump made the comments while responding to questions about a reported law-enforcement bulletin involving a possible Iran-linked revenge scenario in California. He said that matter was “being investigated” and later said authorities were monitoring suspected sleeper-cell threats inside the country.

WASHINGTON — In a briefing from U.S. Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper said American forces have struck more than 5,500 targets inside Iran, including more than 60 ships, as part of Operation Epic Fury. Cooper said the campaign continues to deliver what he described as “devastating combat power” against the Iranian regime. He argued that U.S. military power is building while Iranian combat capability is declining, and said the operation remains focused on eliminating Iran’s ability to project force against Americans and neighboring countries.
