A plume of smoke will move through the state today, but will be less dense than anticipated. Particle pollution levels may become elevated tonight after firework shows have finished. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so Maine residents can stay informed on the air quality situations. The toll free number is: 1-800-223-1196.

The Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency has issued an Air Quality Advisory for Butler, Clermont, Hamilton and Warren counties in Ohio; Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties in Kentucky; and Dearborn County in Indiana, from midnight tonight to midnight EDT Sunday night. Levels of ozone within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards.
