Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Including the following area, Fairbanks Metro Area.
* WHEN...Until 1000 PM AKDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 703 PM AKDT, trained weather spotters reported heavy rain
in the advisory area. Minor flooding, pooling, and ponding of
water is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 0.5
and 1 inch of rain has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is
0.5-1 inch in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1
inch are possible.
- A trained weather spotter reported pooling and ponding of
water near Bentley Mall. With continued downpours and
isolated thunderstorms expected over the next 1 to 2 hours,
minor flooding is expected near Bentley Mall and the
surrounding areas.
