Description:
* WHAT...Up to 1/2 ft of inundation above ground level possible
in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline during the
Wednesday morning and afternoon high tides
* WHERE...Southern Queens and Southern Nassau Counties.
* WHEN...During the times of high tide late tonight into
Wednesday morning and Wednesday afternoon into evening.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Brief minor flooding of the most
vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline.
* SHORELINE IMPACTS...Breaking waves of 8 to 12 ft along the
Rockaways and 10 to 16 ft along the ocean beaches of Nassau
County will result in beach flooding and erosion with scattered
areas of dune erosion. Localized overwashes are possible where
dune structures have been compromised.
Instruction:
Do not drive through flooded roadways.
