Description:
* WHAT...For the Wind Advisory, northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with
gusts up to 40 mph expected. For the Cold Weather Advisory, very
cold wind chills between 6 and 11 degrees above zero.
* WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and south central
Texas.
* WHEN...For the Wind Advisory, from 9 AM this morning to 6 PM CST
this evening. For the Cold Weather Advisory, from midnight tonight
to 10 AM CST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Unsecured outdoor items may be blown around in the wind.
Driving on area roadways may become difficult, especially for
high-profile vehicles. Small tree limbs could break and cause
damage. The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if
precautions are not taken.
Instruction:
Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
Make frequent checks on vulnerable family, friends, and neighbors.
Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or
grills inside.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Residents may wish to take action to secure trash
cans, lawn furniture, and other lightweight outdoor objects that may
be blown around in the strong winds.
