* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...West Central Elbert County in east central Colorado... Southeastern Douglas County in northeastern Colorado... * WHEN...Until 730 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 430 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This may cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas may cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen with 0.5 inches in 15 minutes. - This includes the following streams and drainages... East Cherry Creek, Plum Creek, Dry Creek, East Plum Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Castle Rock, Elizabeth, Larkspur, Franktown, Ponderosa Park and Castlewood Canyon.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
