The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a * Dust Advisory for... Central Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico... * Until 345 PM MDT. * At 1144 AM MDT, an area of dust was developing near Roswell and expanding to the northeast. Additional areas of dust will likely develop in the area. Near zero visibility is possible along the Roswell Relief Route between Sunset and Brasher. Use an alternate route. Please avoid this area. A spotter has reported brownout conditions on US285 between mile markers 95 and 102. HAZARD...Less than three miles visibility with strong wind gusts in excess of 40 mph. Localized reductions to below one mile. SOURCE...Satellite imagery. IMPACT...Hazardous travel. * This includes the following highways... Highway 285 between Mile Markers 79 and 143. Highway 380 between Mile Markers 156 and 182. Locations impacted include... Roswell, Dexter, Hagerman, Bitter Lake Wildlife Refuge, Elkins, Bottomless Lakes State Park, Lake Arthur, Greenfield, Roswell Correctional Facility, and Midway.
