Wayne County in south central Illinois... * Until 330 PM CDT. * At 1121 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain has moved back into the warned area. Most creeks were out of their banks in Jefferson County this morning. Between 6 and 9 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Mount Vernon, Du Quoin, Pinckneyville, Fairfield, Rend Lake Area, Wayne City, Woodlawn, Bluford, Cisne, Tamaroa, Willisville, Ina, Dix, Cutler, Waltonville, Bonnie, Jeffersonville, Belle Rive, Sims and Nason.
