* Until 100 AM EDT.
* At 958 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5
inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2
inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. Multiple roads are flooded
in the warned area
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Jacksonville, New Bern, Kinston, Havelock, Morehead City, North
Topsail Beach, Newport, Wallace, Warsaw, La Grange, Half Moon,
Pumpkin Center, New River Station, Piney Green, Camp Lejeune
Center, Mount Olive, River Bend, Stella, Swansboro and Phillips
Crossroads.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
