The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Camden County in northeastern North Carolina...
Currituck County in northeastern North Carolina...
* Until 630 PM EDT.
* At 332 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4.5 inches of
rain earlier today, but another area of heavy rain is moving back
into the warned area. The expected rainfall rate is 1.5 to 2.5
inches in 1 hour through 5pm. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Virginia Beach, Currituck, Camden, Grandy, Corolla, Old Trap,
Indiantown, Shiloh, Knotts Island, Point Harbor, Coinjock,
Aydlett, Bertha, Waterlily, Poplar Branch, Barco, Maple, Riddle,
Goose Creek and Jarvisburg.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
