Currituck County in northeastern North Carolina...
* Until 815 PM EDT.
* At 507 PM EDT, broadcast media reported extensive street flooding
in coastal Currituck County. Between 4 and 6.5 inches of rain have
fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 1.5 inches in 1 hour
through 630pm. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Public reported.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Grandy, Corolla, Point Harbor, Poplar Branch, Bertha, Aydlett,
Jarvisburg, Coinjock, Waterlily, Powells Point, Mamie, Barco, Spot
and Harbinger.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
