Currituck County in northeastern North Carolina...
* Until 930 PM EDT.
* At 621 PM EDT, broadcast media and the public reported street
flooding in the warned area. Between 3 and 8 inches of rain have
fallen, with the highest amounts in eastern Currituck County where
a Considerable Flash Flood Warning is in effect. Flash flooding is
already occurring. Additional rain amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are
possible this evening.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
SOURCE...Public and broadcast media reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Virginia Beach, Currituck, Camden, Grandy, Corolla, Old Trap,
Indiantown, Shiloh, Knotts Island, Point Harbor, Coinjock,
Aydlett, Bertha, Waterlily, Poplar Branch, Barco, Maple, Riddle,
Goose Creek and Jarvisburg.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when
water begins rising.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
