Description: 
At 729 PM EDT, extensive street flooding continues in coastal Currituck County. Between 6 and 10 inches of rain have fallen today. While the heaviest rain has moved north of the area, additional rain amounts of up to an inch are possible through 9pm. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Public and broadcast media reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Grandy, Corolla, Point Harbor, Poplar Branch, Bertha, Aydlett, Jarvisburg, Coinjock, Waterlily, Powells Point, Mamie, Barco, Spot and Harbinger.
Instruction: 
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when water begins rising. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
