Description:
At 1042 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms moving repeatedly over the warned area with torrential
rainfall. Up to 1.2 inches of rain have fallen in Wolfforth and
southwest Lubbock.
Rainfall rates as great as 4 inches per hour are occurring with some
of these storms. Additional rainfall up to 2 inches is likely in the
warned area through noon. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Flash flooding in poor drainage areas. Intersections,
underpasses and outer lanes of streets could become
impassable.

Center, Woodrow, Texas Tech University, Lubbock International
Airport, New Deal, Meadow, Ropesville, and New Home.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Be aware
of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
