The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Ozark County in southwestern Missouri...
* Until 1030 AM CST Monday.
* At 300 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Gainesville, Bakersfield, Theodosia, Pontiac, Sundown,
Hardenville, Willhoit, Zanoni, Brixey, Tecumseh, Rockbridge,
Sycamore, Noble, Udall, Isabella, Dora, Thornfield, Long Run,
Norfork Lake and Bull Shoals Lake.
This includes the following low water crossings...
Lick Creek at County Road 528, Spring Creek at County Road 142,
Spring Creek at County Road 349, Little North Fork River at County
Road 916, Pond Fork at County Road 883, Possum Walk Creek at
Highway T and Little North Fork at Haskins Ford Road.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
