Description:
At 720 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have
fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Gainesville, Bakersfield, Theodosia, Pontiac, Sundown,
Hardenville, Willhoit, Zanoni, Brixey, Tecumseh, Rockbridge,
Sycamore, Noble, Udall, Isabella, Dora, Thornfield, Long Run,
Norfork Lake and Bull Shoals Lake.
This includes the following low water crossings...
Little North Fork River at County Road 916, Lick Creek at County
Road 528, Possum Walk Creek at Highway T, Pond Fork at County Road
883, Spring Creek at County Road 349, Little North Fork at Haskins
Ford Road and Spring Creek at County Road 142.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
