* Flash Flood Warning for...
Carter County in southeastern Missouri...
Ripley County in southeastern Missouri...
* Until 230 PM CST Monday.
* At 821 AM CST, Emergency management reported heavy rain has
resulted in some flooded roads in Van Buren. Between 1.5 and 2.5
inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to
2.5 inches are possible in the warned area into this afternoon.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly, especially
in western and central portions of the counties.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Doniphan, Van Buren, Naylor, Ellsinore, Hunter, Handy, Budapest,
Gatewood, Oxly, Fremont, Fairdealing, Grandin and Briar.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
