Description:
At 344 AM CST, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain on I-70 in North St. Louis County and I-44 at
Nebraska. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional
rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area.
Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Wildwood, University City, Ballwin, Granite City, O'Fallon,
Kirkwood, Maryland Heights, East St. Louis, Hazelwood,
Collinsville, Edwardsville, Webster Groves, Ferguson, Arnold and
Manchester.

State Park, Castlewood State Park and Horseshoe Lake State Park.

Interstate 64 in Illinois between exits 9 and 14.
Interstate 55 in Illinois near exit 23.
Interstate 70 in Illinois between exits 21 and 24.
Interstate 70 in Missouri near exit 231.
Interstate 44 in Missouri between exits 261 and 277.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
