At 157 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that heavy rain was falling across the warned area. Between 4 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Sumter, Orangeburg, Bamberg, Denmark, Brookdale, South Sumter, St. Matthews, Eastover, Elloree, Claflin College, South Carolina State University, Edisto Gardens, Orangeburg County Airport, Congaree National Park, Gadsden, Sandy Run, Santee State Park, Hopkins, Poinsett State Park and Swansea. This includes Interstate 26 between mile markers 124 and 161.
