Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.
* WHERE...The island of Kauai in Kauai County.
* WHEN...Until 915 AM HST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 610 AM HST, satellite indicated heavy rain over parts of
north and east Kauai. Rain was falling at a rate of up to 2
inches per hour. The heaviest rain was located over northeast
Kauai near Moloaa and Anahola. Additional heavy showers will
be possible throughout the morning.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lihue, Kapaa, Princeville, Kilauea, North Fork Wailua Trails,
Hanalei, Wainiha, Wailua Homesteads, Alakai Swamp Trails,
Haena, Moloaa, Wailua, Anahola, Na Pali State Park, Kokee
State Park, Kalihiwai, Wailua River State Park, Kealia,
Hanamaulu and Waimea Canyon State Park.
Instruction:
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
