Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the
following counties, Carteret, Craven, Jones and Pamlico.
* WHEN...Until 615 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 305 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms is approaching the region. Overflowing poor
drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory
area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.

New Bern, Havelock, Morehead City, Harkers Island, Cedar
Island, James City, Trent Woods, River Bend, South River,
North River, Merrimon, Smyrna, Straits, Davis, Marshallberg,
Sealevel, Atlantic, Harlowe, Vanceboro and Cayton.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
