Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of central Virginia, including the following
county, Prince Edward.
* WHEN...Until 200 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1117 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen in the past 40
minutes.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.0 inches are expected
over the area through midnight.

Farmville, Hampden Sydney, Hampden Sydney College, Longwood
University, Prospect, Darlington Heights, Worsham,
Kingsville, Briery Creek Lake, Tuggle, Allens Mill, Elam,
Briery, Virso and Simplicity.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when
water begins rising.
