Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. The
threat of flash flooding is over, but minor flooding from earlier
rains will persist for a few hours.
* WHERE...Portions of south central and west central Virginia,
including the following counties, in south central Virginia,
Pittsylvania. In west central Virginia, Franklin.
* WHEN...Until 530 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 234 AM EDT, Department of highways reported flooding in
the advisory area, with a few road closures. Minor flooding
is already occurring.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Georges Creek, Beaver Creek, Fryingpan Creek, Banister River,
Dinner Creek, Ditto Branch, Finney Branch, Cherrystone Creek,
Bearskin Creek, Cedar Creek, First Fork, Big Chestnut Creek
and Crab Creek.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather
