* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central South Carolina, including the following counties, Calhoun, Kershaw, Lee, Lexington, Richland and Sumter. * WHEN...Until 545 AM EST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 342 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Columbia, Sumter, Lexington, West Columbia, Cayce, Irmo, Forest Acres, Springdale, McEntire Air Base, Dentsville, Shaw Air Base, St. Andrews, Oak Grove, South Sumter, Highway 6 at Lake Murray Dam, Red Bank, South Congaree, Pine Ridge, Elgin and Arcadia Lakes. - This includes the following highways... Interstate 126 between mile markers 0 and 3. Interstate 26 between mile markers 97 and 123. Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 54 and 93.
