...The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a Flood
Advisory for the following rivers in Texas...
Sweetwater Creek at Kelton 5N affecting Wheeler County.
For the Sweetwater Creek...including Kelton 5N...elevated river
levels are forecast.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Sweetwater Creek at Kelton 5N.
* WHEN...From this morning to tomorrow evening.
* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Water overflows both banks. Cattle in
flood plain are threatened and should have easy access to higher
ground.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:45 AM CST Monday the stage was 7.9 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 11.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 11.6 feet this evening. It
will then fall to 8.7 feet Wednesday morning. It will rise to
8.8 feet early Thursday morning. It will then fall again and
remain below flood stage.
- Action stage is 11.0 feet.
- Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
