* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, including the following counties, Massac and Pope and western Kentucky, including the following counties, Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Marshall and McCracken. * WHEN...Until 730 AM CST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 427 AM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Paducah, Murray, Mayfield, Metropolis, Benton, Calvert City, Fulton, Hickman, Clinton, Bardwell, Wickliffe, Lone Oak, Reidland, Brookport, Sedalia, Lynnville, Lovelaceville, Fulgham, Barkley Regional Airport and West Paducah.
Instruction: 
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
