Big Muddy River near Plumfield affecting Williamson and Franklin
Counties.
.Levels will continue to slowly fall on the Big Muddy River, but
remain above flood stage through next week.
For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...
Moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Murphysboro.
* WHEN...Until Sunday, April 20.
* IMPACTS...At 34.0 feet, Areas around S 3rd & 4th Streets begin to
flood.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:30 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 32.5 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:30 AM CDT Sunday was 33.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday, April 20 and continue falling to 21.9 feet Sunday,
April 20.
- Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
32.6 feet on 04/03/1945.
